BRIGHT is a Charity, set up in 1996 to support vital research for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, treated at St.Luke's Cancer Centre.
PLEASE HELP US TO RAISE MONEY NEEDED TO:
- Support specialist nurses and doctors to improve patient care
- Fund research work to find the most effective cancer treatments
- Obtain specific equipment to improve treatments and outcomes
- Promote clinical excellence and awareness of GI Cancers
St. Luke's is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (Guildford) and is the cancer centre for Surrey and West Sussex, serving a population of approximately 1.2 million.
Wisley butterflies help to launch the start of a Fundraising campaign for a new form of cancer treatment at St.Luke's. Visit our page on Papillon Therapy for more information.
We are continuing our important work in pancreatic cancer to get a thorough analysis of how HOX genes are expressed in this disease, both in cells and in patients, and also to see whether the HXR9 peptide might be a useful treatment to take forward into the clinic.
Ways to Help
In July, Dr Alex Stewart ran the British London 10K to give something back to the charity that supports her work at St Luke’s. She managed to run it in under an hour – amazing considering the 26 degree heat. You can support her & Dr Cummins in 2014 when they take part again. Keen to run for BRIGHT too? Contact us for more details as we have several places available for this run. Visit our Donations page for other suggestions of ways to help.
